PITTSBURGH, PA -- BodyMedia Inc. received one of only 28 awards in this year's 2004 international Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA), recognized as the premier awards program for the health and medical technology community. Sponsored by Medical Device & Diagnostics Industry magazine, the awards honor the world's most innovative products changing the face of healthcare.
MDEA awards are offered in 10 categories ranging from critical care and emergency products to implant devices and surgical equipment. The HealthWearTM Weight Loss System, designed for distribution by Roche Diagnostics won in the over-the-counter and self-care products category. Past winners of the MDEA include GE Medical Systems, Johnson & Johnson, Philips Electronics and Roche Diagnostics.
