BODYMEDIA AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDING TO PURSUE DIABETES PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

Pittsburgh, PA (June 10, 2003)—BodyMedia, Inc., a leading developer and provider of continuous body monitoring applications for clinical and consumer healthcare markets, announced today that the Federal Government, through the Department of Health and Human Services, has appropriated $250,000 for the Company to expand its efforts in the areas of continuous body monitoring for diabetes prevention and management. The work to be done over the next year in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center will place emphasis on applying BodyMedia’s body monitors and software to help in the prevention of juvenile onset diabetes.
